This video demonstrates a successful mountain field test of the
GPT-AS + SAT dual-mode tracking device, part of the
GPT_Gpacers Poseidon Tracking & Rescue System.
The GPT-AS + SAT integrates LoRa long-range communication
with Iridium satellite data services, enabling both
local monitoring and remote monitoring
simultaneously.
In remote environments such as mountains, offshore areas, or wilderness
locations where internet infrastructure is unavailable, most satellite
devices can only provide individual messaging or emergency signaling.
They usually cannot support real-time local monitoring of multiple participants.
By combining LoRa and Iridium communication technologies, the GPT-AS + SAT
creates a hybrid monitoring architecture that allows supervisors to monitor
multiple participants on site while also maintaining long-distance
connectivity through satellite networks.
This field test demonstrates the operational capability of the system
in challenging terrain and highlights the advantages of the
LoRa + Iridium dual-communication architecture for safety monitoring
in remote environments.
